Each spring semester, faculty from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry come to visit UNK and make themselves available to visit with students.
Dr. Curt Kuster, the current Director of Admissions at UNMC-COD, and Dr. Merlyn Vogt, the current Director of Alumni Affairs at UNMC-COD, met individually with health science students who are interested in dentistry or dental hygiene on March 9 in Bruner Hall.
Caitlin Jacquot, a junior pre-dental major from Valentine, is one of the many students on campus who hopes to continue her health studies past UNK.  Jacquot plans on attending the College of Dentistry in Lincoln after graduating. With such a small acceptance rate, she is thankful that the faculty from the College of Dentistry took the time to come to Kearney and meet with students.
“Our students find this to be a great opportunity to make connections with the College of Dentistry. Throughout the academic year, there are other visits scheduled from UNMC professional schools and other regional professional programs as well,” said Elizabeth Stout, assistant director of health science programs.
