Alabama’s Mark Ingram is a favorite on the college landscape to be the second player in history to win back-to-back Heismans.

Smoke-filled parking lots, brats and burgers and thousands of screaming fans must mean one thing—the start of another college football season is upon us. All over the country from the biggest of universities to the smallest, the buzz of college football can be seen and heard everywhere.

All college football enthusiasts have been waiting for this time since the last snap was taken in January. With a crazy off-season that ended with conference realignments, scandals and surprises in the pre season top 25, who wouldn’t be ready for this season? For the next four months, Saturdays will be full of tailgates, parties and loud stadiums.

With a new season ahead of us, there are many exciting things that we should keep an eye on: the Nebraska Cornhuskers looking to capture their last Big 12 Championship, a non BCS school possibly winning a national championship,  Alabama’s Mark Ingram could  become only the second player in history to win back-to-back Heismans.

With the grind of two-a-days finally over and scorching heat subsiding, teams finally look to take the field against someone other than themselves this weekend. They have worked long and hard to put on a performance that is worthy of our cheers and a ranking in the top 25.

The first few weeks of the college football season are sure to be full of many memorable matchups and outcomes that we will all remember. The memories we will have with friends and family during this time of year will last us a lifetime—that’s just one reason why this is considered the best time of the year.
